Earthenware Ceramic Mugs

Ceramic Earthenware Mugs are normally available in white. Only the Sparta, Cambridge and Atlantic styles are available in a variety of standard coloured glazes.

These mugs can be printed in a variety of ways depending on the complexity of the artwork design required.

Minimum direct screen print upto 6 spot colours is 72 mugs on standard ceramic earthenware styles.

Minimum run on Digital or Dye sublimation printing is 36 mugs, for complex or 4 colour process designs.

Bone China Mugs

Fine Bone China mugs are ONLY available in white. They are normally transfer printed upto 6 colours. More complex designs can be digitally printed or full colour transfer screen printed.

Minimum transfer print run on standard bone china mugs is 100 mugs.

Minimum print run for digitally printed or full colour transfer screen printed is 36 mugs.

Bone China Mug Styles

Plastic Mugs

The Plastic Mugs are designed to withstand not only everyday use but also more major knocks and drops which may break a ceramic mug. Not only are the mugs durable but they come in 27 different colours, from refined black and white through to more vibrant colours like neon orange and sparky purple. With this broad range of base colours it is possible to find a suitbale colour for any business style.

The Plastic Mugs are not fired in a traditional kiln like the ceramics, the printed colours are cured using UV lamps. This process allows for far more vibrant colours than ceramics and almost any pantone colour can be printed.

Heat Sensitive Mugs

The Heat sensitive 'Wow Mug' is a Durham style mug with a coloured heat sensitive coating, which is then overprinted. On a dark coating the printed image is barely seen when mug is cold. On a lighter coating the ink image is visible when cold. When the hot liquid is added to the mug, the heat sensitive coating becomes transparent and the image appears, bright and strong.

As the mug cools, the heat sensitive coating is restored to its original colour. The effect does not wear out, but prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will fade the coating.

The mugs are also printed by dye sublimation, and can be printed full wrap or partial wrap. The heat sensitive coating is available in standard colours: black, pms pink 227, red 185, green 327, blue 294, orange 172, green 560, and brown 490.

Optionally the mugs can be additionally screen printed in one or more spot colours with permanently visible inks. The print can be seen whether the mug is hot or cold. Because mugs vary slightly in size and handle position, it is not possible to register the position of the permanent spot colours to the background print. Spot colours have to be kept 25mm away from the handle.

Lead Times

Transfer or Screen Printed Mugs normally take between 3 and 4 weeks. Digitally printed or Dye Sublimation printed mugs usually take between 2 and 3 weeks.

Packaging

Mugs are Individually packed in a plain polythene bag (unsealed) and then bulk packed in carton boxes as standard. 36 Mugs per box. Carton weight: approx 10-12kg.

Alternatively at extra cost, mugs can be packed in individual white polystyrene containers or brown corrugated postal cartons which can house 1,2 4 or 6 mugs.

Clear acetate, green and blue Presentation boxes are also available.
